An alumni of Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College Dublin, and Bow Street Academy’s Part Time Screen Acting course, Gráinne Holmes Blumenthal is a 30 year old stage and screen actress, theatre director, and singer based in Dublin City, Ireland, originally hailing from Mallow, Co. Cork.

Most recently, Gráinne wrote and performed in her debutone woman show FEET PICS AREN’T FREE! at the Dublin Fringe Festival in the Smock Alley Theatre. The show garnered high praise, including a 4 star review from the Irish Times, and the Irish Independent described Gráinne as a ‘mightily appealing stage presence.’

Gráinne has twice attended the Kino Guarimba film residency in Amantea, Southern Italy, where she directed, acted, production managed, and sound operated on over 15 short films with artists from around the world.

In the theatre world, Gráinne performed in the popular new Irish musical, DRAGON, at the New Theatre Dublin, created by Fizz & Chips Productions. Gráinne is also an accomplished theatre director, having co-founded the company Unamused Theatre in 2017, and has directed work for The New Theatre, Town Hall Theatre Galway, Druid Theatre, Dublin Fringe Festival, and the Scene and Heard Work In Progress Festival.

Most recently, she directed AUTISTIC LICENSE by Ian Lynam for the 2021 Dublin Fringe Festival at Bewley’s Café Theatre, which recently toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it garnered multiple 4 star reviews.

Additionally, Gráinne is a regular face on the popular YouTube channel The Try Channel, which has over one million subscribers from around the world. She was the mature singer of the year at Walton’s School of Music 2023.
