Originally from Belfast, Cathy is a Dublin based MAM. She trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama School in London. She has just completed an MA in Arts & Engagement, and was a GAP artist at Mermaid Arts Centre.

UK work includes seasons at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC),Royal National Theatre (RNT),Manchester Royal Exchange, Cheek by Jowl, and the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square with FORCE OF CHANGE and THE WEIR in the West End.

In Dublin she has been a regular at the Abbey Theatre and Peacock (including productions of AS THE BEAST SLEEPS, TROJAN WOMEN, and TARRY FLYNN. Cathy also starred in Wayne Jordan’s production of ANNA KARENINA.

Other work includes Rough Magic Theatre company, most especially with their production of Arthur Riordan’s IMPROBABLE FREQUENCY in Dublin,Edinburgh, and New York.

She has performed at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and MAC, and as a member of Smashing Times Theatre Company performing the one woman piece, THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

Nationwide, Cathy has been involved in a wide range of TV, radio and film work including Radio 4 and RTE dramas including BBC drama MURPHY’S LAW and PUMPGIRL and ON HOME GROUND.

Latest TV work includes a major recurring role in NURSES the NBC/Canadian TV series, plus THE FALL, VIKINGS, HOPE STREET, and SCÚP.

She also sings in a band with her brother Andy White.

Most recently, Cathy was seen in HEART OF A DOG with the Everyman Theatre Cork and Dublin Theatre Festival 2021 and the Nurse in ROMEO AND JULIET at Mill Theatre, Dundrum. Cathy also appeared on stage in PINK TO MAKE THE BOYS WINK as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival in 2023.

Cathy is a multidisciplinary practitioner in drama, musicality, poetry and art: worked widely with TEAM, the brain injury organisation HEADWAY, and works regularly with the outreach department at the Abbey Theatre.

She is currently working on SEACHANGE - a devised piece by Lesley Conroy and Veronica Coburn. As well as this, she has been collaboratively directing, writing, and facilitating SALMAGUNDI as part of a Transcultural Film Project under Jijo Sebastian and Create, The Collaborative Arts Organisation
