Biog

Originally from Belfast, Cathy is now a Dublin based MAM. She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama School in London. Work in the UK includes seasons at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), Royal National Theatre (RNT), Manchester Royal Exchange, Cheek by Jowl and the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square (with Force of Change and The Weir) in the West End. In Dublin she has been a regular at both the Abbey Theatre‘s main stage and Peacock theatre (in productions of As the Beast Sleeps, Trojan Women and Tarry Flynn). She most recently performed in Wayne Jordan’s production of Anna Karenina at the Abbey Nov ’16 – Jan ’17.

Other work includes; Rough Magic Theatre company’s production of Arthur Riordan’s Improbable Frequency which played in Dublin, Edinburgh and New York. She has performed at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast and at the MAC, is a member of Smashing Times Theatre Company and performed the one-woman show, Thou Shalt not Kill which toured nationwide. Cathy has been involved in a wide range of TV, radio and film work including BBC Radio 4 and RTÉ dramas. Her work includes BBC drama Murphy’s Law, Pumpgirl and On Home Ground. Latest TV work includes The Fall, Vikings and Scup.

Cathy is a trained professional singer and regularly performs in a band with her brother Andy White.

Cathy has worked on voiceover campaigns for Bord Fáilte, Daft.ie, MCD and Rathdowney Shopping outlet.

Cathy is a facilitator in drama, musicality, poetry and art having worked widely with TEAM (Theatre in Education) and the brain injury organisation HEADWAY. She is currently working on projects for Calypso Theatre Company and the Abbey Theatre’s Outreach Department. She is a proud member of MAM and mother of two boys.
