Fresh from a packed and highly successful 3 week run at Bewley’s Theatre with the award winning All Honey, from 8th – 27th January, David Fennelly is straight into rehearsals for FAT DAD at the Complex in Smithfield which will run from 13th – 25th February 2018.
Together with fellow Castaway member David O’Meara, they will be part of a six strong cast delivering you this play about a teacher, and the effects of his teaching on boys from the north west inner city.
More info on the play below but I guess with 10 days to go before first previews, we wish BOTH our Davids the very best of luck!
‘This is a play about a teacher, and the effects of his teaching on boys from the north west inner city, inspired by true events. His beliefs were deeply nationalistic, irreverent to the curriculum and advocating independent thought. He went on hunger strike with Bobby Sands and as his Republican allegiances became overt, the establishment shunned him, rendering him penniless and ultimately homeless. FAT DAD are the initials of the Northern Counties, and a synonym for his role in the lives of these young men.’
